Using Blind Carbon Copy   Related Topics

Using the Blind Carbon Copy function (Bcc) in Outlook has a few advantages.

Blind copying refers to the practice of sending a message to multiple recipients in such a way that what they receive does not contain the complete list of recipients. This practice is traditionally used to protect some recipients from spam and other unwanted email traffic.

Consider using the Bcc function for FYI recipients who may not need any follow-on comments from the team. Then team members can choose Reply All and avoid all but the key people on the team who need to receive follow up. Using the Bcc function will reduce email congestion by ensuring that FYI recipients receive the initial email but are not included in follow-on responses.

To display the Bcc field in an email, from the View menu, click Bcc Field.
