When sharing files for editing, communicate with other potential users to make sure that only one user has the file checked out for editing at a time.

IT Networks & Technologies suggests that you edit files by copying them to your local hard drive, and then make any changes on your local hard drive. Upload the final edited version to the shared file location as the last step.

A file sharing utility such as MicroSoft Visual SourceSafe is recommended. For more information about obtaining and using this utility, contact your TSS.
